It can do tamping works not only on the ballasted track of concrete sleeper type II and III in China, but also on various kinds of concrete sleepers and steel sleepers in foreign countries. This machine is suitable for tamping operation of different types of rails and concrete sleeper line after large and medium repair and sieving operations, and also suitable for tamping operation of ballast on newly built track bed. The equipment has superior performance, reasonable structure, safety and reliability, and high working efficiency. It fully meets the needs of railway ballast tamping operation.
The advantages of the Smart Rail Tamping Unit are as follows:
1. The chassis of tamping unit is equipped with walking device and electronic control device (electric engine and remote control will control each function of the equipment). The equipment realizes the characteristics of automatic walking ad remote control, which greatly improves the working efficiency and comfort, it also can reduce the labor intensity.
2. Protective nets are installed on both sides of tamping unit to ensure the safety of workers and the stability of tamping operation. And also, it has the front and rear lights which can provide better lighting when working at night.

3. Off-track and Storage
When the working is over, remove the machines away from the track according to the following steps:
1. Lift up the tamping picks to the top.
2. Turn the engine throttle to idle state for 1 minute, turn off the engine, and then turn off the main engine power switch.
3. If the hoisting ring is hoisted with a sling at the downstream location, YD-22III hydraulic line tamping machine can be hoisted by a crane to the designated safe area for storage or pulled away in time by a plate car.
4. Machinery inventory is detailed to ensure that there are no omissions on site.
5. After work, cover with rain-proof cloth and tie firmly. Anti-slip measures are taken for tamping machine.
6. If not used for a long time, the tamping machine should be dust-proof and rust-proof measures.
