Line geometry check

Jun 19, 2023|

(i) Purpose

To grasp the law of change in line geometry, to discover deviations in line static geometry and to provide a basis for line maintenance.

(ii) Preparation of tools and materials

Road rulers, track checkers, stringers, steel rulers and other relevant tools and materials (to be used as required).

(iii) Inspection cycle

1. the main line no less than 1 time a year, key areas should be strengthened to check, and make records.

2. moving lines and ballast lines should be inspected no less than once a month, with key areas being inspected and records kept.

3. to and from the line, station line (including the station) not less than 1 time per quarter, key areas should be strengthened inspection, and keep records.

(D) Inspection process and content

1. Use the track inspection instrument to check

(1) Use the track gauge to find the best reference point for level and track gauge, and calibrate the instrument;

(2) Implement at a constant speed according to the specified speed, do the data collection and preservation, and output data according to 0.5m;

(3) the implementation of the inspection process to find the curve straight and slow, slow round, round slow, slow straight four change points, in the computer to mark clearly;

(4) Analyse the measurement data to find out the specific location of the disease.

2. manual inspection

(1) gauge level check: use the track gauge to check the gauge, level, no less than 8 per 25 meters, the joint must be checked, the track gauge check to ensure that the track is placed vertically with the rail, to read the value after the reading display stable;

(2) curve positive vector check: check according to the curve measurement points, measuring positive vector, read the steel straightedge scale vertically to ensure accurate readings.

(3) Height and direction check: visually check the height and direction, and measure with a string if necessary.

(4) Inspection prying: the inspection of the disease is not missed, the judgement of the disease is not misjudged, the prying mark is marked on the inspected disease, and the field prying is accurate.

(5) Inspection records: record the inspection situation.

3. Record feedback

(1) The inspection is recorded in the appropriate inspection record book.

(2) Inspection records are accurate, standardised and not omitted, and photographs should be taken for retention if the disease cannot be specifically described.

(3) Problems found during the inspection that affect safety should be reported immediately at each level.

(v) Notes

1. when using the track checker to inspect, a curve must be completed within the day's skylight, otherwise the data is invalidated;

2. to check the expiry date of the track gauge, instrument, etc. on the track and to eliminate expired track gauge on the track;

3. to keep accurate and standardised inspection records, not to miss records, and to take photographs for retention if the disease cannot be described specifically.
